I work in a software development environment, though have recently been moved more into a Sales/Training/Support role.

I'm used to having a clear process to follow, (Spec, Design, Develop Test, Implement, Test, Sign off) and I know exactly "where I'm at" at each point.

Effectively, I will now be managing projects of new clients using our software. This means I will be managing the demo, contractual agreements, system set up, training, implementation and starting out (using our software), as well as all the documentation etc.

The previous salesman used the process of post-it notes, of which my MD despises, therefore I'm taking it upon myself to design a fool-proof project plan, which hopefully covers all these scenarios.

I was wondering if people are willing to share, or point me in the best direction for examples of a good project plan.

Ideally, I'm after trigger events (following up an enquiry), time-lines, tasks and who will be dealing with each task, moving onto business as usual.

A simple excel spreadsheet would suffice, contractual agreements etc are all done, It's just a case of having it all in one big plan!

P.S. I've had a go myself but they don't come across as robust enough.

Thanks in advance
