We recently supplied some items to be used on a TV set, filmed by an independent studio commissioned by Sky, we managed to get our webby in shot but.......
We have now been tentatively approached by the same production company to take part in a series commissioned by Sky showcasing small business's that started from home and that have since grown and become successful.
What pitfalls are there ? Could it put potential customers off if we are shown for want of a better expression "making a profit" or are there just to many positives to not worry about the negatives, anyone ever been involved in something like this ?
I ask as I did make a cameo appearance in the "Kit car crisis" shows that keep getting re run on Discovery channels, I knew the guy the series centered around, the programme did not do him any favours at all and definitely did not portray it how it was but in such a way to make good TV.

People would rather give their work to a busy business than a quiet one, the illogic being that the busy one must be good/desirable.
That's why whenever you ask a salesman how things are going he always says how busy he is, even if he isn't.
And the other line is 'all publicity is good publicity' - you have nothing to lose and can only gain, so go for it.

Tell that to Gary Glitter or Danielle LloydThat's why whenever you ask a salesman how things are going he always says how busy he is, even if he isn't.

I'd say go for it. Have a think about what the show is trying to achieve, "Kit Car Crisis" as a title would be sounding alarm bells to me, whereas a show about following the success of small businesses sounds quite encouraging to me. It'd be weird to have a show that set up to represent small businesses as in any way bad. The only other factor is you: if you come across as a cock or say stupid things, they will doubtless use it. If you have a tendency to put your foot in it, watch out
Not sure how feasible it is, but you could try to negotiate a veto of some sort on the final cut?
