Hi all, could do with some observations about this proposed flyer design. Basically, we provide a service whereby if someone has filled up with the wrong fuel it can be drained on site as opposed to being towed to a garage. We are working business to business providing this service but are looking to promote private work.

These flyers would be distributed to petrol forecourts.

In addition, does anyone here provide a printing service. If so, could I please have a quotation on 5000 units?

Thanking you

I find all the different text colours and outlines visually messy.

Maybe you could be more specific, ie mention DIESEL and UNLEADED somewhere, rather than just 'wrong kind'.

Or how about dumping most of the text and adopting a graphic approach based on the black and green colours, and maybe a little cartoon character clutching his head etc? That way people can see exactly what you do in a second. One for a graphic designer I think. Can recommend one (in Essex) if you need one.

Personally I'm not a fan.

I agree with Simpo that it's a bit messy

IMO you should lose the background image for a start. It makes it all hard to read and a white or single colour background would make your logo stand out more.

The initial catch line is good, but possibly make it even more obvious/attention grabbing, with a bigger font or a more stand-out colour.

End of the day if these are left in petrol stations for people who have had a mishap it doesnt matter what they look like as long as the details are readable.

5000 a5s single sided are just over a ton.

Are flyers the right idea for this one though?

If it were me, i'd look to get some foamex type signs made (similar to House 'For sale' signs) and would cable tie those to fences, petrol station canopy columns etc.

rather then flyers what about stickers and wack them on the petty pump/desk of the petty station, its not as if people are going to take one "just incase" they will only be interested when they have screwed up!

But you can't just go nailing your leaflets all over the place without permission.

Better, get some small stickers made and put them on the back of the nozzle handles (there's usually a round area for advertising). That's exactly the place people will be idly staring when they have that 'oh fk' moment.

I'd suggest having a word with the managers of the petrol stations. If anyone does mess up, they'd prob ask at the counter if they can help. If the staff know about you then it gets the careless driver off the forecourt quicker.

How many people out of 5000 motorists are likely to make that mistake? How many of those people are likely to have kept your leaflet?

Leafletting is a one hit wonder, thinks about the amount of leaflets you throw out at home without even looking at them. You need longevity, something like a pen, a key fob, a mug, an ice scraper etc.

But without doubt, getting something in the garages, with longevity at the point of error is the best idea, leafletting I think would be a waste of £100.

Agreed. Fantastic idea thumbup

WRT to the design, I don't think you need a picture of the van or anything - the cartoon idea is a great one. Along with a headline along the lines of;

'Unleaded in a diesel? You dumbass! Let us fix it before anyone finds out!'

hehe

Agree that you need the advert at the point of the mistake. Otherwise why would you keep a leaflet about fuel removal?

Posters next to the pumps, cards in the filling station along with a box of biscuits for the attendants once a month, maybe get into the local car rental places, taxi offices etc with a couple of cards and a poster.

Keep it simple smile

Yep. And promises of backhanders finder's fee rewards will get you more business than any leaflet.
