Microsoft Accounts

Have a small business, and business partner 'does' the accounts. He is looking to stop doing these, and I am more than happy to take over. He uses Microsoft Accounts, which I believe he downloaded for free.
However it appears this package stopped being distributed last year.
So
a) is there any way of getting hold of this software, as this would probably be the easiest to carry on with
b) if I can't get a copy, can you suggest what I should use, which is compatible with MS accounts, as he will send over the files he has which will need importing to the package, and ideally is free..
c) any other solutions?
I am not an accountant so accountant speak will wash over me...
Our invoicing needs are pretty basic, no one invoices us, we just invoice other companies
