Does anyone have any experience of this website?
I am thinking of offering one of my businesses for sale through this site but am reticent after a bad experience with another selling agent some years ago.
Also, whilst browsing the site on the 'Businesses Wanted' section I came across an ad for someone looking for my type of business. Do you think these are genuine wanted ads? I could just speculate the £30 required to find out but wondered if someone could save me the trouble. Many thanks.

These guys right? http://uk.businessesforsale.com/
The website itself is a genuine outfit, and one name that crops up again and again when people ask for advice on where to buy and sell websites, so no worries with those guys. However the Wanted Ad may just be another business broker, so can't advise if the actual advert will be genuine (if you see what I mean)
Good luck, maybe put the details of your biz for sale on here - there are usually lots of people who get involved with those sort of threads (sidekickjnr or something like that had a really good thread about selling his vehicle valeting business!)

I had considered Daltons but it seems it's where the brokers list the advert themselves. No harm in being in 2 places I guess!
I guess it would be considered a small business. I have 2 salons. T/o is just over £300k for both, split roughly 50/50. I was contemplating selling one of them but would sell both if the deal was right.

Go to bcmscorporate.com (the company I work for) and download the free book. It'll take under and hour to read but there's some seriously good content there that'll go a long way to helping you get more for your business. Although we deal in much larger company sales the logic and processes in the book apply to any type of company.
Thanks Frimley. From what I have read so far it confirms my concerns of what the website I was enquiring about (and others like it) actually achieve. The adverts (in the category that I would be in at least) appear poorly written and stagnant. I don't want to appear desparate to sell, I'm not.
