Dedicated Server Hostng - Recommendations?

I'm looking for a dedicated server from a hosting company, can anyone make any recommendations?

we use ukfast. not the cheapest, but not had to speak to support for server crashing etc in two years. With 1and1 before that we were on the phone every week with some sort of problem, and their technical support was useless!

Spoke to support at ukfast for technical advice a couple of times and their guys seem very knowlegable, and also if you want something setting up (I asked them to setup mysql query caching a couple of weeks ago, and also a few other changes for php), they will just do it without charging any extras.

We've got two running with WebFusion

No problems with them whatsover. The same can't be said of our previous hosts, FastHosts.

Serverstream, run by PHer JamieBeeston - lots of PHers use them and Register1 (Sister Company/Brand). Great Customer Service.

I use Rackspace, not the cheapest but service is fantastic.

Nearly went with Serverstream (I've got a lot of domains with Register1), but Rackspace matched Jamies quote and I've first hand experience of their hosting over many years so decided against the move.

Left field idea, but if the bandwidth needs aren't huge, have you considered Amazon EC2? Azure is still a way off, but its a good, solid service, with some fascinating extras.

You really need to post what you require the server to do so people can give specific advice.

How many hits a day? Anything that's database/cpu intensive? Any downloads? etc.

A quick PH search of Register1 will show all the positive feedback
