To cut a long story short,we have on going problems with the bank who we are now going to meet.

We are in dispute over letters they say we have been sent regarding our business account so we asked them to fax over these letters.

We received the letters and they all have the incorrect address on them, so someone as details of my overdraft facility, account number, sort code company name and address.

I know that some of this information is availble on our cheques but is this a thing i should report to the FSA.

Why not wait for the meeting, and bring the letters to there attention early, it will give you a good start to get the bank to react to anything you want to bring up. Always a good feeling asking a bank why they have done something wrong! and can prove it.

From the FSA's point of view its simple, its your responsibility to keep the Bank updated with your current details.

However... if they have plucked the address details out of thin air, or you have proof you have told them of your current details and they have sent the docs elsewhere its a rather serious data protection breach. If you request a copy of all the details/documents the Bank has on you they must provide them - at a small fee.

I would not be heavy handed at first as they are obliged to investigate and will have a set, regulated complaints procedure.

We have never altered our address details and all the business bank & business card statements get sent to the correct address and have done so for the past 11 years when I started the business.

What level of incorrectness is there in the address e.g. is it clearly a keying error like 12 instead of 21 Aardvark Street (human error) or is the whole address completely and utterly wrong (incompetance)

They get the second part of the address wrong ie avenue instead of road, and the first number of the the second part of the post code wrong, ie 2 instead 1.and on one occasion correct address but with wrong house number.

It seems that letters from the manager get to us (right address) and important information sent from a support unit have the wrong address on them.
