Data storage/archiving

Don't know if anyone can help with this; I've got a couple of thousand documents I need to have scanned and saved (probably DVD-ROM?).

Options are, as I see it, do it myself (not keen on this one), employ temporary staff to do it, or use an off-site company such as Iron Mountain. Anyone got any recommendations for the latter option, an an idea as to costs per document?
