We're looking at fitting out a 25m long mock-high street in a warehouse as part of a demo area. As part of this we'd like to have mock-shop fronts on one side, against the wall of the warehouse.

At the moment it's just an idea, pending costs but does anyone know where to start with sourcing mock shop fronts?

Buy chipboard, cut shop shapes, screw to wall, get local art students to come in and paint them. add glass, litter, people, dogst etc to taste.

An interesting idea but something a little more professional is needed - They're not cheap products that we're trying to sell.

wink

I wasn't trying to suggest you were doing anything on the cheap; rather that I would have thought that's how any shop-front supplier you might find would do the same job.

'Exhibition Contractors' might be an area to look in - but it won't be cheap.

We've fitted fake windows in the past.

Just a piece of ply with a frame around it - the end-users then stick on their own graphic/sticker - just extra ad space really but blends in with the rest of the shopfront.

Are you looking for something that actual sits away from the wall - i.e. are you displaying something in it?

You'd be wanting TV/theatre set designers.

Yep, theatre folk would be good - and probably inexpensive.

Thanks for all the replies - I'll look at some theatre set builders.

3 dimensional or 2 dimensional? If 2D is an option we could print you a life size image of a shopfront onto panels which could be either then screwed to a wall or supported by a structure. We have done a similar project to simulate the interior of a ship for a training environment.

PM me if this option is of interest.

I know Steve, the guy who runs this company: http://www.modelmakers-uk.co.uk/ They should be able to help as they've made things that are a lot more complex. No idea on cost though, sorry.
