As per the subject, is anyone here into chrome plating of plastic parts? We have a product that is manufactured in China, about which we occiasionally get asked if it available in a chrome plated finish.

It is manufactured in polycarboate and a quick google suggests that whilst ABS would be easier, it is possible to chrome plate PC.

We're looking to have the plating done in small batches in the UK.

Can you help?

http://www.invictavac.com/ We've used them for years. Good service. Vacuum metalising is the tech term apparently.

Hi Phil I may have a question for you, I need some small plastic parts making and then chrome plating, they are best described as plastic rivets, small cylindrical circa 10mm by 8mm and look a bit like a very short socket head cap screw without the thread (infact they are precisely that, a fake bolt for alloy wheels) they aren't available and I need some making up, they could be made by injection moulding and I have some that a mould could be taken from.

If you think you can help let me know!

Drop me an email though my profile with a photo (if you can) and some idea of how many you'll need per year etc.
