There should be several Wilts members attending G-O-T-G, and we may be joining up with C3C on the pre-event rumble. Any Moonrakers out there wishing to joins up with us, please make yourselves known!

We'd be glad to have you join us Ed. I assume that you live somewhere around Frome (?). I was thinking of a route via Bradford-on-Avon, perhaps you could help out by suggesting a suitable route to Wells? If so, please email me via the contact facility on the wilts web site www.tvrcc-wiltshire.co.uk

Paul.

Hi Simon, Sorry for the lack of action. I had thought we might meet up outside Chippenham and take a 30 min coffee break in Lacock around 10-ish, driving onto Wells via Cheddar Gorge, but I'm a bit concerned that it might be pushing it a bit to get to 'The Green' by lunchtime and would take you away from your original intended route.
I have to speak with someone in the Wilts region who knows the area better than I.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Paul.

With regards to the roads in and around wells and the Mendips. you could always drop use (the organisers a line) I live in wells and nacnud likes on the Mendips. We are trying to get cars to the green to come in on one side of wells to try and minimise the traffic problems..

regards Se you all there..

I was going to put a route together but Paul beat me too it. I think the plan is to meet up at Lacock for a bru and then trundle down to Wells via Midsummer Norton and Cheddar. I guess you had better post the full route up Paul.

IIRC we are trying to get cars to arrive from the shepton/bath side of wells. Not from the Glastonbury end or down the Bristol hill.. small detours may be required but this will avoid the traffic problems and one Sharp (over 90 deg bend) an the bottom of the Bristol hill

Ok I have just insulted my map of the area, and this is the last leg of the journey we would prefer you used. (but it is up to you lot)

The B3135 is the road up through the gorge, this road passes Priddy. (on the right on top of the Mendips) here you will find a couple of pubs (The New Inn + The Queen Vic) if you wish to stop a while for refreshment. Continue on the B3135 to Green ore (junction of the B3135 and the A39 go straight over (still on the B3135) to the next junction Turn Right onto the B3139. (There are better views across the levels on the A39 into wells, but, if all do it I fear we may bring wells to a standstill). Continue on the B3139 into wells (It does get parked up a bit near the centre so go careful) once near wells you will see the 'East face' of the cathedral.. (its the big building right in front of you, you cant miss it honest ) at the junction just in front of the cathedral, the road to enter the green (St Andrews street) is a dog leg left. you will see marshals blocking the road. For those of you who wish to come but nave not got a ticket to park on the green, head round to the right towards the centre of wells for alternate parking.

We will post an article here, with maps etc nearer the time, locating car parks etc.

Regards

That sounds fine to me, cant speak for the rest but I am sure we will all go with the flow.

I have not seen any tickets yet, I have been asked by Dan to be in the lineup. Do I need to do anything special apart from have a very polished car?

We have not sent out any tickets as yet (slap wrists) we are having a few problems confirming the line ups for the new cars the cherished cars and the "it something special" some are being a bit slow to confirm, Once this is done the rest can be allocated. the will be a few different coloured tickets so we know where you need to park, We do have a list of people who wish to attend (around 175 cars at the moment) so getting the tickets out should be no problem, and even if it gets lost, we have the list of names etc..

We are at the moment re-jigging the cherished line up due to our old Griff 400 having to drop out as he is racing it...

Regards

I am going to do a draft run on the tickets at the weekend (while Mrs Pebbledash is at glasto.. slumming it with a crew pass)

yep..
The noise should be fun.
I met a certain jvaughan at le mans, who has a 400SE that's louder than nacnuds SEAC, also Patrick Deary is going to join us in his SEAC, so advice is get up the gorge early or your passage may be blocked by the odd rock slide or two.
