Lots of talk on Usenet.

No real solutions.

Anyone come accross it?

I have had something similar. Media Player loads the whole movie clip into memory and won't play it until it has done so, be it with static ram or page file..as I found out while clicking like a loon when I tried to play a 4.7gig mpeg.

End result you have to wait without an egg timer, but due to the time waiting to load it looks like the machine has hung.

In the past to resolve a 100% CPU usage scenario, I would just kill explorer and restart it.

Service Pack 2 on the way and still more bugs than an insect house.
