ThinkPad X220 - anyone got one?
Discussion
Well, I'm thinking about a new laptop. I currently have an old Mid09 MacBook Pro 13", but am considering a "proper" PC again.
The ThinkPad X220 looks like it'll fit the bill - 12.5" screen, 8 hours battery, i5 processor, and decent build quality.
I'm happy enough with Lenovo - the OH has an IdeaPad S12 which she hasn't managed to break yet, which is amazing.
Anoyne got one that would like to comment?

Not got that particular model but used ThinkPad's for the last 15 years and every one of them has been bullet proof, I've never seen another make that just feels so robust.
all the others feel like they will fold up in your hand. And nothing has changed since the business was sold to Lenovo.

Wow, you're sad.
Feeling rather high spirited today actually...I only have the rest of today and tomorrow to work, then two weeks off!I think you might be the one that's sad...having the first reply to your (non car related) thread be the same as you reply to someone else's (car related) thread.
Just to cheer you up, the silver lining is that it's back to the top of the board after a month. You can't complain about that now, can you?
x Series laptops are too little for me. The missus has one and a macbook pro - she uses the mac most of the time.
I stick to higher powered stuff anyway - typing this on a T60p (5 years old, used every day, still solid as a rock).
I have a W510 at home with 16GB of ram and an SSD in it - that's a beast.
The W520 is better still (realistic 8 hours of working battery life is amazing)..

Is posting on PH going to get you a PC quicker?
Is the PH community really interested?
I'll give you two guesses as to the answer, for both those questions.
