Guys have just bought an ipaq 2210 for the TomTom navigator but didnt realsied how much it did. So how can I connect to internet via my mobile? At home I have broad band so do I need to commit to another isp as my broadband supplier allows me access to my email via their homepage? Also one of my suppliers often sends me email to my home pc in PDF format. i then have to come home and print them off to take back out to any jobs. I'm a thinking that if they can email them to me and I can receive and open them on my Ipaq it'll be dead handy.
Any suggestions?

Opening the PDFs is easy - just install Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC, free from Adobe. You can easily exchange files between your PC and Ipaq, using the supplied sync software and USB connector. You can also sync email with Outlook using this method. I bought a combined CF 128Mb + WiFi unit for mine, so I can also connect using the wireless LAN, and still have a 512Mb SD card in the Ipaq.

Connecting to the internet via a mobile can be accomplished in a number of ways - I use my 2215 via Bluetooth to my Nokia 6600, connecting via GPRS. Works well. It can get fairly spendy though, compared to fixed price broadband.

Thats cracking thanks. What isp do you recommend for use with mobiles? Any inparticular or are they all as good as each other? I suppose as long as I have internet acces i can just put my pop details into my ie on my ipaq and synch back and forth at night?

Your access point for GPRS is provided by the mobile service, and that's (as far as I'm aware) not possible to change. Can't see why you would want to change it though - it's merely an access to the internet. You don't need another ISP, since you already have POP3 email boxes, and can use those.

If you are looking to sync email, I would suggest using the Outlook (which comes with the 2210 as a freebie), and the ActiveSync software to keep it all in step. Then use your mobile to access email while on the move, re-syncing when you return to base.
