Holidays for me could be a bit boring at times.... I sometimes felt a bit disconnected from the world, work, my friends, and importantly from our kids...

Sometimes when I couldn't sleep at night, when all the reading material had been exhausted...(I am not a book person) I used to yearn to be able to browse the net...

Last year changed all that, I bought an IPad.... Yes I know I could have had a laptop before but somehow it's different.

We user it touring France last year, touring the UK, and this year in California, France, and at the moment, Santorini.

Just sitting here on the balcony, sun has just gone down, and I am browsing the net planning tomorrow while my wife gets ready....

Best bit of kit I have EVER bought and I have not put it down since we have bought it...

If you are thinking about getting one, or another tablet, do it, it really has changed things for me on holiday....

Totally the wrong section.

I'm late to the jesusPad party, had one a week. Quite good, though I have a MacBook and an iPhone anyway so it's not making a massive difference

with Job's job up will apple keep to the winning path or will they lose their way again? iWhatevers only sell on trendyness and ease of use over actual performance and features, says the man with an iPhone, iPod and a strong desire to buy a Mac to replace the ageing home PC, oh yeah and is one moment of weakness away from buying an iPad, if I ever feel flush enough I will.

Tim Cook has been running the company for some time. They will not change a winning strategy.

It has changed your life because it changed the world.

So has lots of stuff in our lifetime from jet engines to Tivo, PCs, CDs etc.

People think your going over the top about just a gadget but that's because they are not switched on to the changing world we live in.

A thread like this will wind up Apple haters and I tried to avoid owning an iPad for a year as I was (guess I still am) one of those.

I still hate iTunes but the iPad with its supporting apps have changed how we can do things.

I smile at those going mad for the £90 Touchpads as they are just another tablet and even at 4 times the price, the iPad looks good value.

What kind of holiday is it when you feel the need to be in contact with family, work etc. People need to learn to relax and switch off.
