I have had several instances recently of outlook express removing attachments from incoming emails that are Word documents and perfectly safe. I have then received them in my Hotmail or Yahoo boxes without any problems. This morning it has removed a web error page that I was sending out to my web designers as "unsafe".

I have a new PC so I imagine it is something in the OE settings on it. Does anyone more technically gifted than me (that's all of you ) have any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Perhaps your system is set up to remove .doc files as they can contain macro viruses. Try zipping one and see if it happens again.

Try this:

- Go into Options off the Tools menu
- Click on the Security tab
- Uncheck the "Do not allow attachments... virus" box
- Hit OK

You should be able to get to your .doc files now.

Probably a Grandmother/Eggs situation, but I assume you've got something like Norton or McAfee scanning those files, just in case?

That should do it I think. I have Norton Internet security / anti virus so hopefully that should catch the bad guys.

Thanks
