Folks, my old Psion 5 has long passed away to that special place for retired gadgets (i.e. the bin), but I want to get access to some of the Psion files I have backed up to my PC. These files are in Psion/EPOC format, so can't be read by Word, Excel etc.

Anyone aware of a file converter that would help?

Cheers,
gixxer.

I thought Psiwin converted these automatically.

Still got my 3a in the loft somewhere along with PsiWin cable and software for Windows 3.1

You're quite correct about it converting the Psion Word files etc into MS Word etc.

I'm a little reluctant to install Psiwin as I recall having all sorts of problems having both Psiwin and ActiveSync (for the iPAQ) installed on the same machine.

I was hoping for some sort of freeware converter.

You could email them to me - I'm still using my Psion 5... Every other PDA I've tried, and thats lots of them, is pants by comparison.

I've got both installed under XP at home and NT at work. They work just fine, so long as you remember to switch off whichever one you're not using at the time. (I have an iPaq 5550 which I'm really glad I didn't pay for - it crashed more in the first 2 weeks I owned it than my Psion has in 6 years.)

Anyhow, the offer of converting any files you want still stands.
