Digital Cameras / video cameras
Discussion
Hi,
In the next few days I will be shelling out on a digital camera (approx £300) and a video cam (max £500).
Trouble is, I don't really have much of a clue as to which is the best one, (for both bits of equipment) and what I really need, optical this and that, pixels here and there etc etc...
Basically it is only for family use, but would like good usable examples of both.
If anyone has a recommendation of what to buy I would be grateful as I am sure the sales personnel in the relevant store will sell me something which they are particularly flush with, or need shifting without further ado.
Thanks in advance.
Mike.

Thanks folks. Ended up buying a canon ixus500 and canon 750i (not sure what the injection bit on the video cam is yet though!!)
We have a Canon DV camera too. Very good.
Do you have a computer? If so you really want to hook up the Firewire connection so you can capture video onto your hard drive and then burn DVDs.
