Over the last few days, I have started to receive numerous emails with Netsky virus attachments. My Norton AV has been good so far at identifying these as soon as they arrive. One of them came from an address along the lines of toniandguy.sex pictures. Infact, all of them are coming from bogus type addresses. It is as if my email address has suddenly become 'famous' and attracted this unwanted attention.

So, what can be done to block this kind of stuff? Anything? I am firewalled behind a router, have Win XP Pro firewall on and my Norton AV. But I'd naturally prefer not to receive this kind of piffle in the first place!

There's not a lot you can do to prevent these emails arriving, I'm afraid.

What happens is that somebody you know, with your email address in their adress book, has this virus, and is firing it out willy-nilly. This means that they send you the virus all the time too.

In addition, if it has spoofed your address in its "reply to" address, then you also get all the notifications of non-delivery etc from everybody it's been sent to.

I get loads of these through the work server, and you just have to weather it, as far as I know. Sorry.
