blackberry help !

just got my wife a second hand blackberry. Its a 8520 curve. it was a ex T- mobile contract phone and has been unlocked to any network. SO o2 is her current provider. i phoned o2 and got her BB bolt on added (a total scam and rip off IMO) and went into the host table setting and regasterd the hand set. but it does not connect to the Internet. all i get is "unable to connect to the Internet. If the trouble persists please contact your network provider". It wont even go onto the Internet via WI fi. the icon to get on the Internet is a "walk and web" icon not the old world icon she had on her last one. any ideas

You might want to try the following things:

1) wipe handset and re-activate from scratch

2) post this in "Computers Gadgets and Stuff"

I bought a curve too and had it unlocked.
I am with o2 too.

IIRC it took 24hrs for it all to kick in, have you given it a chance?
O2 website has some help tips too

Oh and make sure your mail box is empty ish when it connects my inbox had about 300 unread items and my hanset downloaded the lot!
