Norton Anti Virus corrupted
Discussion
Can anybody help me? I upgraded my operating system from windows 98 to windows xp. In the process my Norton Anti Virus software somehow corupted. xp recognised the problem told me to uninstall Norton and then reinstall it again. However, uninstall was only partly successful. So now I can neither uninstall the complete programme nor install the programme again (because uninstall won't completly uninstall!). I have tried to find a helpline telephone number on the Symantic website; but to no avail. And I simply don't understand what the online diagnostic is trying to tell me! Is there a computer genius out there who can help?
I am running NAV as part of System Works 2003. When it packed in for no reason I followed the removal guide on Symantec website, then reinstalled. Bit of a pain in the arse but the upside is your subscription expiry date is reset!

NAV 2004. Yeuch, I've tried it and it's a complete resource hog, I've also tried the public 2005 beta, and that's worse its gone completely pearshaped....so don't go there either.
I'm back on 2003 for the AV and firewall, mainly because it's the most stable and least resource hungry monster symantec have turned out thus far......recently anyway.
kevin.
If you ned to remove them, there are two tools you will need after add/remove. D/L thses from the help section, they'll clear up most, though not all of the issues you have.
