Daughter has Driving theory test on monday so Dad buys the Driving Test / Hazard Perception CD-Rom.

Thought this would be simple. But of course its not..this CD uses MPEG2 and my computer doesn't seem to have it so it won't load!

What do I do next?

Any help gratefully received.

MPEG-2 is the DVD and SVCD standard, try it in your DVD player, or run a DVD player on your PC if you have one. If not go here - the DivX player handles MPEG2 playback for you.

Hey quick reply - many thanks! I was using the DVD player in the PC but I suppose the system is 3 years old and pre-MPEG2? Anyway I will try the divx download and see what happens. Thanks again.

DVD format, known as vob, is MPEG2 standard!

If your dvd player won't play it is there a problem with the file.

Well, I followed FourWheeelDrive's advice and now it works. Most computers I spend any time with seem to have a mind of their own. Nothing ever works perfectly, or it does then it's just a matter of time until something falls over and then it takes me several hours of fumbling around to achieve yet another metastable state just waiting to be pushed over the edge (the computer not me, Oh! I dunno though!!). Thanks for help
