I breifly get a blue screen that says something like this.

Dumping physicle memory
may need to upgrade BIOS

and a load of numbers and stuff.

so do I need to upgrade the BIOS
How easy is it for a computer idiot to do
And how do I find out what revision my mother board is?
I have an asus A7N8X delux.
I have been on the asus web site and they have a update for it but it says for revisions 1004 etc etc

Revision No. will be printed on the motherboard.

You really need to take note of the "numbers and stuff" then search google groups or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for info about the error. It may not be talking about your motherboard it could be VGA card

post details if you like and I'll see if I can dig anything up

you also need to be VERY sure when you flash the new BIOS that you are using the right one for your motherboard, and the correct update of the update you aleready have.

A failed BIOS flash leaqves you with a scrap computer... it's not like installing programs where you can reboot and start again.
