Well finally entered the computer age at the weekend and now have a collection of silver boxes on top of and under my desk
All is currently fine with it, all loaded up far easier than I ever expected it to, but.....
Now I need to add somemore software to it, mainly AutoCad which I'll be borrowing from the office, and then I need the likes of Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc, whats the cheapist and easiest way of getting hold of these without paying PC World prices or screwing up my nice new PC

ebay is worth looking at. Steer clear of the obvious counterfeits and you can still get legit software for a good discount.

Last question today
In the office we have a copy of AutoCad LT which would be handy to have at home
Is it straight forward to 'borrow' it for the night pop it on, and then put it back in it's place before anyone notices
All this serial number and registration stuff worries me slightly in a 'Big Brother' type way but am I just being paranoid for no reason

Yes you are being paranoid for no reason.

When you get broadband you will be able to get the full version complete with key no worries.

I'll mail you when I get home regarding AutoCad LT...

I s'pose having my neighbours front door smashed in and the plod remove his PC at 2am one night has had an effect on me regarding computer usage/big brother monitering

LT has no registration involved, just require a serial number. It also depends if the office have an upgrade version or the full copy on site. We keep one full copy and the upgrades are all off site for security purposes.

As Plotloss says, if you have BB it's all available to borrow Even MDT 6 and Inventor 7 are there if you are 3D minded Is it LT 2000 or above you are looking to borrow ?

Shout if you need assistance.

Well he was carted off about a month before christmas, returned briefly, and mentioned it was a copyright issue, but he then disappeared again, and we haven't seen him since, he parents pop round and do the garden once in a while and when asked where he is, they just say he's 'down south'
