Anyone use MS Money?
Discussion
More specifically the Portfolio section of the program that allows you to download share prices and automatically update the portfolio?
I've updated a file in the normal way and a message with a red cross has come back saying "Internal Application Error". The program is effectvely frozen, with no way out other than Al Shift Del etc. This leaves a ".LRD" file due to having not closed it properly. The .LRD file is not a problem.
Re-open the program and everything is fine until I click on Portfolio and it will not allow me into it. The screen appears to show something for 0.1 of a second then reverts back to the screen you were on.
I was originally running Money 2001 when the problem occured this morning and have now updated to Money 2004. The problem remains the same though.
Any ideas?

Is it when you connect to MoneyCentral?
Errrr I assume so. (Be mindful that I am a tech dunce)
It was all working fine when I left the office at 7 on friday night. This morning thoughm, there is the above problem. Prog seems to download prices etc but I can't see them in the normal way by clicking on "Portfolio". I've got to go in via the reports option which doesn't give anywhere near as much info/options as the portfolio option used to.

Could potentially be an issue their end if nothing has changed your end...
Definitely something downloaded from their end whilst updating prices this morning. The "sh1te" though is now in my program files. Any chance of advising when/if MS release a download to get around the problem? or details of a link to where you found the info.
cheers

No info found, just seems the most plausible explanation at the current time.
If it was working Friday and you now find it knackered and nothing has changed then its going to be their end I would have thought.
The only other thing, depending on how Money works would be to do a full uninstall and then reinstall.
MS sometimes do things without thinking about the impact fully...

Does it still happen when you try to view your portfolio offline? There's an option you can select at start up saying something like "I don't need the on line features at this time" or something like that.
Also try backing up your existing money file, create a new money file and create some portfolio accounts in that to see if it works.
Can you view your transactions OK when you look at your investment accounts in the account list screen? If so click on update prices, update prices manually... and see what's in there. When was the last update transaction? Do you have a lot of zero price updates in there?
