Do I go for genuine or 'compatible'?

I have an Epson Stylus C84, currently using genuine Epson cartridges.

I get through a set every 2-3 months, so using OE items is proving costly.

I had mixed results with 'compatible' cartridges in a previous printer - some were great, others were crap.

Thoughts/recommendations from the PH jury?

I always go for Epson branded ones now after buying some 3rd party ones that didn't work, rejected by the printer.

I keep an eye out for local computer fairs where you can get them a lot cheaper than in the shops/online.

I've been using their Print Rite compatible cartridges for years with 6 different Epson printers, have been fine, great results.

We've now got a C84 so will be ordering some for that from them too.
