mp3 gapless playback

what's hte best way to achieve gapless playback with mp3 compress cd.
i have a few mixed compilations that i want to be gapless.
any ideas?

WinAmp does a mixed fade-out / fade-in between tracks. Maybe that would do the trick?

i should have mentioned that i want the gapless playback on my iriver mp3 player. is there good software to join the mp3 files together into one mp3?

Acoustic MP3 Audio Mixer (link) should do the job for you. I haven't used this version but the older incarnation, but it should fit the bill (check the site first to make sure I haven't misunderstood what you want to do).

cheers rpguk, that looks exactly what i want to try and put my mp3's (that were originally a mix cd) back together again.
