Have you got a recent version of Photoshop? If you have open the image and go to file/save for web and adjust the size there. If you're enlarging the image the quality will suffer as a gif is only 72dpi to start with so there's not much pixel data to work with.

Thats the problem, I dont have photoshop!

I have a gif 120 x 120 and I want to reduce it to 40 x 40.

Set the colour mode of the image to true-colour; resize and then save as gif again, and it will go back to the new 256 colours.

download The Gimp for windows.


its a free download www.gimp.org

then go to image size and change to 40x40.

will open and save photoshop .psd files.
very powerful but has a bit of a steep learning curve.
(but it is *free* )

always recommend it to schools and charities/students.
