Need to replace a couple of laptops in the office .. need one lightweight thing - which will withstand a careless user who wishes to travel about with it - and a more beefy one which I can use with a docking station as a desktop replacement.

Dell is out as our previous two were from there and I'm not happy with the build quality. (+ Both have basically fallen apart)

The new Vaios look nice .. but just wondering what other options there are. Probably spend about £1500 ea.

Dell Inspirons are very heavy
(My Thinkpad used to be confortable in one hand, the Dell needs to be tucked under the arm)

the company that i work for are not buying the new range of Compaq/HP laptops. The most common of these laptops are the HP nc4000 and nc4010 laptops. they have the pentium-M processor and are nice to work with. They are quick, light and the users seem quite happy.

How careless is the careless user panasonic tufbook type careless? Not very light but that discourages them from dropping them as they may land on their foot.
