Tapisrv has caused and error in WAN.TSP

AAAAhhh

Just installed Wanadoo broadband on my home pc. Everything fine for two days, nice speedy internet etc then one evening I get a message when trying to log onto the internet."Tapisrv has caused and error in wan.tsp" and it says after this "Tapisrv will now close". Basically it stops my pc connecting.

I have spent all weekend trying to fix it even restoring my pc to an earlier date and going through all the help text.

Anyone have any idea or had the problem themselves. this id driving me mad.

Tapisrv is the telephone api resident service in Windows.

From doing a quick read of Google it seems that this is a spyware generated error.

www.lavasoft.de, download and install Ad Aware

Then google for Spybot Search and Destroy and execute that.

Problem is I cant connect to the internet to download anything

With that in mind, I have to enquire how you are posting this?

I'll see if there are manual removal instructions anywhere...

I am posting at work on my firms laptop. I am going to take it home so if I find any online help I can read the laptop while trying to fix the home pc

From what I can find just googling this error it seems to be quite common so I hope I can get it fixed simply.

Never knew what spyware was. I have just been having a read and realised that one of the errors that I have been receiving is that another program is already connected. it sould like spyware is the problem and i will be downloading software to eraticate it when I can next connect to the internet from my home pc.
