OK ... Large multi-site corporation. Multi-domain at the mo but soon to be one large domain.

What we want to do is give a select number of admins access via a broadband connection, either ADSL or Cable so that thay may administer all the current domains from home.

Any idea what would be the best way to approach this ? The intention is that if their is a problem in the evening we could have a look and perhaps fix it without having to drive in. We would want to access both clients and servers.

Ta !

Citrix NFuse depending on what you needed to do with it.

Or even a Terminal Services Client running through a VPN.

I connect to my normal desktop via GoToMyPC and then VNC to the rest of the network from there.

Depending on the security requirements and the budget available / how serious you want to be ...

You can use PC Anywhere or VNC to access a PC that can be used for all the admin tools, telnetting etc.

Depends what the internet feed is at the place of work, but certainly some kind of remote access solution is the way to go, you could come straight through a firewall (if the home ADSL has a fixed IP address), or use a VPN terminated on the firewall or a VPN concentrator, you could use some kind of authentication, depending on what is there already, or maybe it is time to use something like SecureID.

From a project/cost justification angle I'm sure it would make sense to provide a solution that would give remote access for various parts of the workforce (surely you already have one you can use ?)

Hope this helps.

That's what i use. I've published the MS remote desktop client to the admins group, so you can just cascade the terminal sessions.
