Hi All,

After reading that Register1 is a fellow PHer and that they are reliable and cheap I registered my name as a domain www.neilbolton.co.uk.

I did this at about 10 this morning, and have had an email confirming that the domain has been registered. I set up a forwarding address to some webspace I have, and yet it still comes up with a 'Cannot find Server' page.

Would it be that it may take a day or so to register the domain with Whois and the relevant registrars?

Can anyone tell me the process that it follows when you register a domain?

I just had a look at whois, and it's definitely registered to you now!

I suspect you'll need to wait for a day or two for the DNS records to propagate around the net though.

Indeed, domains generally take 24 hours to propagate.

Neil,

first of, thanks for becoming a customer.

In answer to your query, you need to wait for a core Nominet Database Update to occur,

this usually happens overnight, as such your domain should work fine from tomorrow.

You can configure your mail and Web forwarding now, and all will simply work tomorrow.

FYI: You can raise any support questions via your Register1.net control panel, I pay chaps to answer queries so its best to keep them busy if you have any questions.

Seriously tho, do let me know if you have any queries.

Thanks

Hi,

alas Its not one of the Common TLDs we offer,

if you can point me to where It is on offer, I can see if i can sort a franchise for it, however alot of the 'more unique' tlds are country limited, IE only available for purchase from companies / individuals Reg'd in that country!

Sorry

From what I've seen the main site is:

www.domains.ph

Also found this site which mentions no restrictions or requirements

www.101domain.com/ph.htm

Reckon you could drum up quite a lot of business among us lot...

My Account Manager said:

Jamie,

This will be forwarded to our Product Management Department, and they will evaluate the feasibility of implementing this. As far as I know, unfortunately, we haven't had the same level of interest from our other clients, and for the time being, our resources are being dedicated to some European ccTlds

Let me know if you have further questions.
