Can't say for the ipod, but my iriver records the radio at 32kbps which equates to 32768 bits per second. The memory is 1Gb or 1073741824 bits. Divide the 1Gb by 32kb gives a recording time of 32768 seconds which equates to 9.1 hours! You would lose some time due to file system overheads but its still a lot of recording time.

Hope this helps.

4GB in a mini
128kb/s recording = 16384 B/s (bits to bytes)
4*1024*1024*1024 / 16384 = 262144 seconds
262144 / 60 / 60 = just under 73 hours

Halve the bit rate, double the hours, etc.

So yes, 2 hours will fit!

Even if you used uncompressed, 44.1KHz 16-bit stereo, there'd be room for 7 hours (not that I'd recommend it!)
