Camcorder to mac?
Discussion
Hi all. I have an old Sony camcorder which is broken (the tape doesn't work). But is there a way I can connect it to my MacBook Air so I can record on that?
The camcorder has a FireWire port out and the MacBook has USB and thunderbolt ports in. Is there anything which will connect it? Also if I can, what software would I use to record it?
Thanks in advance!

It depends on the model, some have "webcam" functionality, some don't.

Or just get a firewire cable, plug it into the camera & Mac. and see what happens.
