Sky go and ATV/ipad mirroring.

I have a sky hd subscription.

I'm away from home with my ATV and ipad. I want to watch the F1 so hooked up the ATV and ipad. Authorised the ipad as an authorised device and started skygo.

Sky have apparently disabled video in AirPlay mode, so basically I can't use my sky subscription unless its through my sky box or just viewing it on my ipad.

Googled it, but is there a workaround?

If you move the ipad closer to your face, it will give the appearance of having a 50" TV in front of you.

Yeah, but it goes out of focus then. Also it makes it harder to drink a coffee as the ipad gets in the way.

I'd prefer a more practical solution folks.

A stand for your iPad, so you can watch while drinking a coffee.

Slingbox and Slingplayer for ipad. You've paid for Sky, you should be able to access Sky. If the day ever comes when they find a way to block those babies, I'm cancelling my sub.

Yes you can do it if have mac laptop?

Ipads 2,3 and 4 do mirroring. Iphones 4s and 5 do. Newer Pro's and (I think) all Air's do.

Still cant watch sky though. Jailbreak an Apple TV 2 like I did and you can however.

Perhaps I should have been more clear? You can with a Slingbox setup, and the Slingplayer app on you iphone / ipad / macbook. Wherever you are in the world as long as you have a net connection. No VPN required either. Major bonus.

Not disputing that at all. However I was giving him a work around for his Apple TV by jail breaking it.

Are you sure this still works? I understood that xcon (the jailbreak app which makes this possible) doesn't work anymore since Sky updated their app about a year ago?

ETA - Forget my post, I thought you meant jailbreak the ipad, not the ATV
