I have several films downloaded from kazaa in wide screen format. Is it possible to plug my computer into my wide screen telly to watch them?

Yes.

Probably.

No.

Doing it easily will depend on your graphics card having a TV out of some sort, that is also matched by an input on your TV.

What outputs does your graphics card support (e.g. SVideo, Composite Video - as well as the usual DVI and/or VGA)

Found this info on my installed card

The Ultimate Corporate GPU
In addition to blazingly fast 2D and 3D graphics, GeForce2 MX provides unparalleled display flexibility with its new TwinView display architecture. Through TwinView, GeForce2 MX supports a dizzying array of multidisplay configurations. Various combinations of multiple monitors, flat panels, and TVs can be connected to a single GeForce2 MX GPU. TwinView even supports two independent digital flat panels, an industry first, providing relief for severely constrained desktop environments.

Just wondering how to physically connect? What kind of connecter would you use?

on the misses' laptop easy as its got TV out at the back (rca connection).. my older tower PC with a voodoo card had an S-video out which was fab. This new Dell tower has a GeForce 3.. but afraid no idea how to as it's only got a VGA & a DVI socket.

Have you had a wee google session ?

GF2MX cards are usually budget models and as such, often don't have the physical connectors to take advantage of all the stuff the chip is capable of doing.

Have a look at the back of it, if there's only the D-shaped VGA socket, then you're out of luck. If there's anything else, you might be ok (depending on what inputs your telly has).

Unless its a plasma or a hi def TV then no.

It works, to a point, but what you will find is that you get artifacts drawn on the screen where the interlacing fails.
