Best Colour Inkjet? Your Thoughts Please....
Discussion
Afternoon chaps,
While 'er indoors is off sunning herself, she has tasked the cockney grunt with looking at a replacement printer.
We currently have a Photosmart 1000 which, while a good workhorse is getting a bit long in the tooth now. I'm sure there are better inkjets on the market.
I'm thinking of a Photosmart 7960, which comes in at just under 200 nicker.
Anyone else got any ideas? Budget up to £300, and bear in mind I've already got a scanner / copier, so an all in one isn't what I'm looking for.
Ta,
Greg

I bought an Epson R300. The R300M is the same but has a small colour monitor so you can print without a PC This does photo quality pics (5760 x 1440 dpi = 8305920 dots per square inch) and also prints on CD's / DVD's. Takes 6 print carts and give superb colours. Replacement carts are really cheap. I have a link to an on line ink cart supplier at work. I will post it tomorrow.

The best inkjet is the colour-laser printer you let your office buy and maintain
I rely on the HP Laserjet 5500 in the office, and even I was surprised by my requirement on colour DIN A3 prints

don't you mean the i9950 - its 9900 in the US, I thought. The really big feature not mentioned for the i9950 is that you can print upto A3 size.
Canon are launching the iP6000D this month. It looks like a winner for mixed doc and image printing - dual media trays for normal paper and glossy. Worth considering.

Can't go wrong with HP and the 7960 looks to be the best of the lot. I chucked in our Photosmart 1000 about 2 years ago for the HP 7550 and have not looked back. You know for a few pounds more you could have the 8450 which is a little faster and has built in ethernet?
