I need a source of a new laptop that I just want too download music with and generally have to throw around the house.
It needs to have the following features:
CD Burner
Wireless enabled
I'm not bothered about memory capacity as I'll only use it to surf the net and burn cd's. The only thing is that it has to be new.
Any ideas?
Cheers
John

Ebay or computer fair ex-business laptops would probably be your best bet if you want cheap.
didn't notice the "new" bit.
Look at the ones advertisied in the papers from PC World and the cut price sellers then as most laptops these days come with a CD Writer and internet access readyness.

Early last year a bourght an IBM Thinkpad with CD burner for 550+VAT, made in Scotland too (I bet most of the parts are foreign). Still very happy with it, I would buy another. Even if Win XP is getting slower and slower, it does run Linux very well.
Personally I would only ever buy IBM, Toshiba or Dell. They don't cost much more than the cheaper brands and are much better made.
We (work) had all five HP laptops fail (three different models too) so I wouldn't buy another one of them.
