Hi there, been using Thunderbird for a couple of months with no probs. Just in the last couple of days, I have been unable to send any emails because I get prompted to type in the password for one of my email accounts (I get the prompt for this specific account whether I send from it or not).

I type in the password, but the prompt just comes back again and again (or it just hangs and doesn't let me type anything). If I cancel then I get a message about the server refusing SMTP connections.

I can still receive messages normally using TB and 've been able to send messages using Pipex NetMail, just not through TB.

The only change I've made recently is a big update (5mb) to my Norton AV, the problem seems to have started then. I'm using Zone Alarm free firewall.

Any ideas?

Pipex don't allow you to send via their SMTP server if you're not connected to their network. Could this be the problem?

Also remember that you need to append %dsl.pipex.com (may vary) to your username when logging in.
