I managed to sort out my bios issues the other day but when fiddling around trying to get my system to boot, I managed to overwrite part of my W2K install.

My question is, is there a way of repairing this without losing all of my other installed programs. Do I need to back up registry entries or summat.

I throw it to the collective genius of PH to help a fumbling idiot.

If you reinstall Windows 2000 on top of itself it should leave all the programs in situ no worries.

You may lose colour and display settings but thats no biggie...

I'll give it a go then, I've got the entire Hdd backed up onto a new one anyway so I might as well try.

Well that didn't work.

Clean install it is then.
