You probably will need TMPGENC and Virtuadub, hope this helps.

You need a mac

First thing to be aware of is that avi is just a wrapper for a file, an avi file can be any one of a hundred different codecs. so just because you get it working for one avi doesn't mean that it will work for all of them.

The important thing is that DVD is MPEG-2.
