Strange this, when Matthew comes in from School like most kids he switches the TV on (in the kitchen this is) if he just flicks the switch down lad like, the modem drops the BB connection, but, if the switch is gently pressed down the BB connection stays put. All comp connections are either through an UPS or surge protect. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have Sky?

If so do you have the box's telephone lead plugged into a socket and do you have an ADSL filter in it?

Wonder if it might have something to do with your box trying to dial when the TV is switched on to update something but can't because of your BB connection and they interfere with one another and the BB line drops.

Some phones that have PSU's do this too. Spike goes in the PSU, into phone and even though, like modems, they should only be opto-coupled, it twangs the ADSL connection.
