wma to mp3

Hi,

I have just been given an mp3 player for my birthday which doesnt seem to support wma.

I ahve all of my music ona pc at home in wma format. There seeems to be a lot of convertors out there, can anybody recomend one which is free and easy to use?

Also, are mp3 files generally smaller or larger than wma?
