please help a PC novice....

.... I need to upgrade/replace my PC - its a P2 400mHZ with 128meg of RAM - seem to remember it was hot stuff in 1998....

Can anyone recommend -

- A good place to get a replacement system - Ebay prices look enticing, but I wouldn't want to take the chanc of being sold a turkey

- what sort of spec will be OK for a light user who wants multimedia apps, MS office and not too much else.

You could also try Staples - much better customer service IMO. My ex (who knew, and still knows, nothing about computers) got an IBM in Staples in 1998 and I have to say it survived the onslaughts of her and her children perfectly for over 5 years. Staples also offer a 14-day no-quibble returns policy - try that with PC World!
