Forgive me father, though I'm not sure I've sinned. For today I took the output of Sonic Foundry's Acid 2.0 on my PC, combined it with sounds from my Yamaha QY1 and recorded my updated rendition of CCR's "Proud Mary" into my Tascam Portastudio. I proceeded to connect this back to my PC, rip it into an MP3 track using MusicMatch 4.0 and download it into my Diamond Rio 500. Then, Rio blazing away through my Sony noisecancelling headphones with tunes of my own creation (with a little help from Fogarty), I snuggled under the down comforter of my bed and curled up to read Scott Turow's latest lawyer tale on my Rocket eBook. My question, all-knowing one, is this: do I need an electric blanket? And is there a place I get AA batteries at wholesale?

You have my sympathies. There are so many cool gadgets out there now and some ones that are not yet commercially available. Here are a few I am working on

I have been into gadgets for years and now its getting just a little bit ridiculous. Over the last few months I have been stock piling pnuematics equipment.

My latest project is converting my old conventional front door to electronic access, and uses a biometric finger print sensor as a key. I have been programming all my mates into it for a few weeks now so they can let themselves in at certain times. I have a "Wednesday Night" section for 'Boys Night', a "Girlfiends" section for weekends and a "Mates" section that allows access 24/7. I bought a medical grade 'silent' compressor and have been plumbing in an air reciever and some valve blocks so that the fingerprint reader will physically open the front door once a correct code has been entered

I am going to do a 'Startrek' sliding door for the bathroom if this is a success.

Me and her aint talking about 'my projects' these days

I hope you can make it do the 'fshhhhtt' noise...?
Something that draws the curtains as it starts to get dark would be handy, if you do those?

Yes, and it needs to be controlled by X10 ( www.letsautomate.com/index.cfm?CFID=162701&CFTOKEN=1e85233-9e4326c4-3f92-44fa-8394-95c323f0ff5d&Nav=X10& )
