I've got my laptop on a wireless 11g network, which is usually fine, but the other day my laptop couldn't find any network. It's been the same story since then. the other people on the network are having no such proplems and no setings have been changed. i downloaded new drivers but its made no difference at at all. the card is a ralink rt2500 that came with my fujitsu-siemens. it's a built in card

I have had this problem with a Linksys card.

Try completely uninstalling the drivers and software, then shut down and restart (removing the card from the machine if it's not built in before you switch on again).

Now install the latest drivers from fresh.

If this does not work then check the channel used is the same as everyone else.

Hope this helps.

Are you running XP SP2? If you have automatic update enabled, then you probably are. The default is now to switch the firewall on and it can do funny things! CHeck the no-brainer things first

i tried reinstalling the drivers but without success. my card is built in so i can't even hit it out of frustration. does anyone know how i can find out if my card is even working? I have no idea whether some setting has changed or the card has packed in. thanks for the help LF

sorry for cofusing everyone by posting as chicane who is my flatmate. Disabling the firewall had no effect. When i try to enable the card i've noticed a balloon saying something along the lines of "a network cable is unplugged" which is most confusing and never apppeared in the past if i couldn't connect to the network
