Is there a simple way to connect ( Network ) my Sony laptop with firewire to my desktop pc?
I don't want to pay out much as broardband is here next March when I will go wireless.
( If there is any help in this, I have built in wireless on the laptop, and I have a slim pcima wireless card and a pcima / pci adapter slot in board )

Not a techie so bear with me.
I just bought a Sony laptop and needed to move some data over from my PC. I just put a 10/100 PCI card in the PC and connected to the Laptop built in networking card using a crossover cable. Moved the data over, job done.
I then bought a wireless router and connected it to the PC using the cable supplied and then went wireless to the laptop.
When your broadband arrives you will be all ready to go.
