Blueyonder wireless question on sharing connection
Discussion
Anybody help? please
A friend has the following supplied by Blueyonder
Netgear MR814 802.11b Cable/DSL Wireless Router
Netgear MA111 Wireless USB Adapter 802.11b
He has bought (by mistake) a
Netgear WG111 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter 802.11g and 802.11b compatable
Problem is this,
When he loaded up the drivers for the recent purchase and connected it to the USB port, no connection was made to the Router, as if it did not exist.
Now would I be correct in saying that he would need to remove/delete the drivers for the MA111 then load the drivers for the WG111 and manually configure the connection to the router (ie: the Network SSID and passphrase) as this was done with the bundled software from telewest and set it up for you.
The idea in the end would be His PC using the new dongle (WG111) and his son's PC using the original dongle (MA111)
This should be possible as the new dongle is compataible with 802.11b routers
any help will he will be gratefull to.
PS: Cannot return the new dongle, as it was bought from Amazon and returns policy say it must be in original packaging ie:no seals broken.
