IRQL not less than equal

Error Caused by Graphics Device Driver

or something, in device manager there's an exclamation mark at the SIS 630/730 display driver which, upon examination doesn't appear to be present. Where did it go? How does it function without it?
i've downloaded a recommended one from 'driver guide toolkit' but am scared to unzip it

Could be anything from overloaded PSU through a bad memory card down to bad drivers.

MS error handling is at best, comical.
