Lend me your Hard Drive
Discussion
Serious here folks, Last night for the first time in ehsrbselu yrs, I made a boo-boo and allowed two live components to short together - unfortunately the components were the chassis of a hard drive and a chip on the cct board of another hard drive! Nice little spark and my own smoke generator!
If I can get hold of a cct board from another Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 120GB ATA/133 drive, I can recover the data off of this drive before binning it
( although that may not be necessary if I could keep the CCT board ) So I'm pleading - any of you PC experts out there able to help me out, please?
Failing that anybody got any ideas where I might get cct board for the drive ?

The controller boards on hard drives quite often change throughout the production life of the drive, so you really need to find a drive the same age as yours.
- incidentally, you have my sympathies, I did the same about 6 years ago.
